Rise Professions appoints Bill Guthrie as MD with budget to boost business
Rise Professions aims to round off a successful 2009 and position itself for a full assault on 2010 with the appointment of Bill Guthrie as its new managing director, backed by a handsome budget for growth.
Rise Professions, is the division of Rise Group that incorporates the former Hammond Resources business and has offices in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Mr Guthrie joins Rise Professions from HR Consultancy, where he spent five years. Initially recruited to build up a finance team within the business, he successfully did this before managing numerous other development projects. For the last two years of his time with HR Consultancy he was the firms commercial director.
Prior to that Mr Guthrie had led four of Hays Scottish offices and so his pedigree in the industry is well established.
Indeed, through government channels, Mr Guthrie offers expert recruitment advice to potential investors in the Scottish economy, giving them an insight into the talent pools available for their prospective operations.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Guthrie said: Rise Professions is a thoroughly energised firm with an excellent ethos and a great reputation. It is an exciting time to be joining the business and I look forward to helping it achieve its ambitions.
Explaining a little bit more about how he aimed to do this, Mr Guthrie added: My view on recruitment is that its straightforward and if you focus on servicing your candidates and clients in equal measure, you will get it right.
My decision to join Rise was partly made because its service-led values mirror mine. Honesty, integrity and transparency will remain the values by which we operate during my tenure and I want to make the standards we set here the benchmark for others in the industry to follow. I am looking forward to growing both our reputation and our business volumes in the years to come.
In terms of expansion, Mr Guthrie is looking to hire a number of experienced consultants from both accountancy and finance and HR recruitment backgrounds. He is also aiming to bring on board a number of graduate trainees who may not have the experience, but have the requisite hunger to fit into the ambitious plans at Rise Professions.
We are a well-backed business and we are very serious about rounding off 2009 on a high note and carrying this into 2010, said Mr Guthrie.
I am looking forward to adding some new consultants to the excellent team already in place and building further on our past successes.
