Brazil beckons for top legal recruiter
Leading legal recruiter, Laurence Simons, has slotted another piece into its global jigsaw with the opening of an office in So Paulo, Brazil.
With a focus on legal, tax and compliance recruitment, the new office will work both with law firms and in-house clients in Brazil and throughout the Latin America region.
The office will be headed-up by Pedro Amaral Dinkhuysen, one of the pioneer recruiters in the legal, tax and compliance sectors in Latin America. Pedro has worked in So Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Campinas and New York. He has worked extensively in the private practice sector, placing partners and associates into local and international law firms - and also the in-house market where he has worked closely with numerous Brazilian and Latin American managers and directors from some of the world's largest companies.
Commenting on the development, Naveen Tuli, Managing Director of Laurence Simons, said: Launching our So Paulo office shows a real commitment to a region that we believe will experience a period of sustained growth, particularly in light of the forthcoming World Cup and Olympics competitions.
The new venture has already been given a resounding thumbs-up, both from established clients in the region and from law firms and multinationals who are planning to set up operations in Brazil. To that end, our decision to be the first specialist legal recruiter on the ground was as straightforward as it was compelling. As a BRIC economy, Brazil represents a key growth market for many of our clients and provides an excellent springboard for the Latin America region generally.
John Rose, CEO of parent company, the FiveTen Group, was equally upbeat about the move into the Latin American market: Laurence Simons is unique in the way that it is truly an international recruiter - something that is rare in the recruitment world. By establishing a presence in Brazil, we are keeping ourselves one step ahead of the competition and I predict exciting times ahead, both for Laurence Simons and the FiveTen Group as a whole.
Naveen Tuli added: We pride ourselves in being a truly international legal specialist which is pioneering in terms of entering new markets and this move is testament to that. In Pedro, we have an outstanding, experienced recruiter who will undoubtedly add value to our clients businesses and candidates job search Im sure that we will see some great things coming out of the Sao Paulo office in the coming months.
Laurence Simons is no stranger to making groundbreaking moves into new territories and already has offices in London, Dublin, Paris, Geneva, Amsterdam, Dubai, Moscow, Hong Kong, Sydney and Chicago.
The company is a key member of the FiveTen Group. Backed by the private equity firm Englefield Capital, the Group has developed into a leading specialist recruitment business with significant operations in the UK, Europe, USA, Russia and Asia-Pacific. It now has a powerful portfolio of recruitment brands, including WH Marks Sattin in finance and accountancy, Greythorn in IT and Telecoms, EMR in marketing and Ortus in human resources. Its most recent acquisition was Antal, the acknowledged market leader in professional recruitment in Russia.
