Joslin Rowe & Martin Ward Anderson Signal Intent
Joslin Rowe & Martin Ward Anderson Signal Intent in Professional Recruitment Space
Joslin Rowe, the financial services recruitment specialists and Martin Ward Anderson, the accountancy & finance experts are joining forces to create a market leading recruitment offering for professional staffing.
The two Randstad sister companies, who had already been working closely together for some time, set up an integration team in November to research a more formal proposition. The first phase was formally launched to all staff in the middle of January.
Tara Ricks, who will lead the new company as managing director following Richard Wright's departure to pursue new interests, believes the two firms will be far stronger together:
"This union makes sense. Both firms had already been reaping the rewards of sharing market intelligence, supplier contracts and back office support since 2008. Looking ahead to the next decade, the driver behind our official combination is to create a professional recruitment offering which can deliver far more than our competitors. Our mutual strengths, specialist knowledge and above all talented staff will ensure we have the platform to achieve more together and exceed our clients' and candidates' requirements."
"In an arena that has rapidly become saturated by job board sourcing, recruitment consultancies need, to some extent, to go back to recruitment 101 and attract a pool of niche candidates that can't be found anywhere else. Our ultimate vision is to be the aspirational choice of recruitment consultancy amongst professionals, from bankers to accountants, who are serious about their career choices and want to register with a true specialist."
The New Proposition:
Together, the two firms will employ 212 staff across 15 offices in the UK and overseas
Martin Ward Anderson will continue to specialise in the horizontal market of accountancy & finance, Joslin Rowe in the vertical market of financial services. Together both firms will be positioning themselves as the aspirational choice for professionals serious about their careers
Joslin Rowe's financial services offering will be rolled out regionally via Martin Ward Anderson's office network across the UK in key hubs such as Manchester & Birmingham
Both companies will continue to trade under their current brand names whilst research is undertaken via an external agency as to whether there is any business benefit in rebranding. A decision will be made in Q2 2010.
Joslin Rowe and Martin Ward Anderson London staff will sit alongside each other in brand new offices on London Wall.
There will be no staff redundancies across either the sales force or central services departments such as marketing, IT or admin support. In fact, both firms will be actively hiring, as Tara Ricks confirms:
"The silver lining of the ongoing recession has been the fact that both businesses operated very leanly throughout 2009. By joining forces as the market starts to tick upwards, we need a full complement of consultants to manage this upturn and to launch our regional financial services offering, which in turn will offer far greater progression opportunities for our employees. I am very much looking forward to building the next exciting chapter in both our histories."
