Sea change for HR brings fresh take on recruitment
Blue Octopus, a new and intelligent web-based HR partner, launched by two brothers, is offering a smarter and more affordable way for companies across all sectors to find the perfect candidate, without the need to involve conventional methods.
And since the octopus has just been recognised by BBCs The One Show as the most intelligent animal, the company name and ethos marks a move in the right direction for founders Liam and Chris Coleman.
We gave a lot of thought to our name, wanting it to be memorable but more importantly represent a new wave in recruitment, and you couldnt get more different than Blue Octopus, they said.
Together the pair and their new team has amassed more than 20 years experience working in the recruitment sector for traditional, online, press and agency companies and are well placed to understand that clients need an HR partner with passion and expertise who fully understands their requirements.
Chris explains: We agree a fixed cost based on each clients situation this is not about a one size fits all solution as no two clients fit the same brief.  We believe this is the most comfortable and progressive way to work and it is what the clients have been asking for.
The team will be providing clients with a fully transparent proposition, something they think has been lacking in the sector, but more importantly they will not be charging placement or multiple hire fees.
We work seamlessly with clients, short listing and making recommendations for the right candidates, handling the entire interview and selection process from start to finish efficiently and professionally, added Liam.
Another significant reason for clients to find this new way of working to their advantage is a state of the art software programme where they can track their own account 24/7, catch up on candidate profiles and score them against their original criteria.
