275% increase in demand for top Banking & Finance professionals, says InterExec
Latest statistics from InterExec, the confidential Executive Agent, today reveals that the demand for top professionals within the banking and financial sectors is on the rise, with a 275% increase in the demand for bankers.
The statistics reveal that the percentage of senior executive vacancies handled exclusively by headhunters and therefore not advertised for the banking and financial services sector have risen from 21% of all vacancies in January 2009 to 26.5% in January 2010.
The research is based on market information representing 50% of the UK vacancies, which was collated by InterExec, which specialises in senior executive career management and deals with UK and international headhunters.
Kit Scott Brown, chief executive of InterExec, commented: Contrary to what we might expect to see, the financial services sector is actively seeking senior executives, especially within the area of banking, which has seen a dramatic 275% increase in companies looking in January and February 2010 compared to the same period last year. In our experience this is a reflection of companies looking for new talent in a challenging market and the first signs of growing confidence in the sector.
