Ambition appoints Hill as Hong Kong head.
Ambition, the leading listed recruitment group, recently announced that, Matt Hill will take up the post of Managing Director of its Hong Kong business. Andrea Williams, its current Hong Kong chief will be moving to the UK to assume a newly created role within the company.
James Ash and Tim Gilbert will assume the roles of co-MD for Ambitions UK company, Witan Jardine which is to be rebranded Ambition in April.
Ambition Group was founded in Australia in 1999 and is one of the few small to mid-sized recruitment firms with such significant international operations, covering Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and London. The Group is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
Hill will have oversight for Ambitions highly successful Hong Kong office and will look to build on its 10 year history in the territory and its first class reputation within the Banking & Financial Services, Finance & Accountancy and Sales & Marketing areas.
Hill added, This is a very exciting opportunity for me as our Hong Kong office enjoys a rich history of success. Whilst all our locations have faced challenging market conditions over the last 12 months, our Asian businesses have performed admirably. With the highly publicised levels of growth being seen and planned in the region, we have a clear path to develop and grow our consulting numbers over the next few years. I am very positive about what the future holds in this region
Guy Day, Regional MD, UK & Asia commented: Ambition positively encourages international career development and this is a strong statement to make to our people. Our Asia and Australia businesses have certainly emerged more quickly from the downturn than the UK and our Group is heartened by the trends emerging from the Asia Pac region. Ive no doubt Matt will add to our success
Hill started his recruitment career in the UK with Witan Jardine over 12 years ago and was most recently the Managing Director of its Banking and Financial Services division. His transfer is effective June 1st 2010.
