Hays Aiming For 60,000 Charity Donation

Staff from Hays, the leading recruiting expert in qualified, professional and skilled people, are taking part in Beat the Moon, a physically tough challenge to raise money for Hays charity partner Action for Children. The gruelling challenge involves cycling a total of nine miles, followed by a nine-mile trek to the summit of Scafell Pike and a canoeing stint on Wast Water before finally ending with a one mile run. To top it off they must complete the whole course before the moon rises. The challenge will take place in May 2010 and the Hays team aim to raise a whopping 60,000 for the charity.

Action for Children is one of the UK's largest children's charities working with over 156,000 children, young people and their families at around 420 projects across the UK. Action for Children is committed to transforming the lives of the most vulnerable children and young people, helping them break through injustice, deprivation and inequality so as they can achieve their full potential.

Tim Cook, Managing Director at Hays UK and Ireland, says: We are proud to support such a fantastic charity and would like to thank friends, families, colleagues and the local community for all their support in helping us meet our fundraising target. I know everyone is working and training hard to make sure they are ready for this demanding event, and are able to raise as much money as possible.

Jess Abrahams, Senior Corporate Fundraiser at Action for Children, said: "Beat the Moon is a great example of creative fundraising and one that should raise a fantastic amount of money for Action for Children. As someone who will be taking part in the challenge, I also have no doubt that it will be an event to remember for everyone involved!"
