Smart Solutions Recruitment expands to new head offices

Specialist recruitment firm Smart Solutions Recruitment has relocated its headquarters as part of its ambitious expansion plans.

The company has moved its head office function and permanent recruitment division to 6,500 sq ft premises in Newport, south Wales. This new base is in addition to its five other offices in Wales and seven offices across the rest of the UK.

Nathan Bowles, chief executive of Smart Solutions, said: This move is a significant one for us. We were winning more and more significant contracts from around the UK, so moving into premises which will allow us to reach our clients easily was vital. The larger offices also mean we can accommodate our growing number of staff. The move is a reflection of Smarts success so far and our ambitious plans for the future.

When Smart was established in 2008, it operated from shop premises in Pontypool. It has since grown to have 12 offices across the UK, with 60 employees, processing 1,500 timesheets every week, and a job seeker database of more than 10,000. It is aiming for an increase of 8m in turnover in 2010.

Smart offers recruitment in a number of specialist fields including waste and recycling, call centre, food production and manufacturing, as well as permanent recruitment.

The Langstone offices will house administrative, financial and HR functions as well as acting as a base for client account managers. It will also act as a training centre for Smart employees, allowing them to be briefed in industry best practice and the latest employment legislative changes, as well as Smarts unique approach to working.

Bowles continued: With people out on the road a lot, Langstone Park is perfectly situated for us. From Newport we can reach our clients in the South East and Midlands quickly and easily, which is a key part of our plans for expansion beyond Wales.
Paul Ragan, chairman of Smart Solutions, said: Smart has grown so quickly over the past few years, and the fact that they have taken significant office space is a reflection of that fast-pace. The team has worked hard to achieve the success it already has, and these new offices are another step in Smarts ambitious plans for the future.
