Rallying cry for the Engineering & Technical recruitment sector

Rallying cry for the Engineering & Technical recruitment sector

The Recruitment & Employment Confederations Engineering and Technical Group will host a special panel discussion looking at issues and challenges within this sector of the recruitment market.

The panel discussion will be held in Manchester as part of a series of Regional Focus meetings and will look at issues such as the Agency Workers Regulations, travel dispensations, liabilities in client terms and conditions and skills shortages.

Philip Higgins, Chair of REC Engineering & Technical, said: Our sector is diverse and is undergoing changes in the way we operate. On the client side, we are increasingly seeing contracts which put greater pressures on us to accept more liabilities, while on the candidate side it is becoming more and more difficult to find the right skills.

With the Agency Workers Regulations looming on the horizon, we need to come together and discuss these issues, how they will impact on our sector and what we can do together to solve them.

Joining the group for this session will be Rob Crossland, Managing Director at Parasol  Peter Stoll,  Director at Mansons Insurance Michael Rhodes from Danbro and Anne Fairweather, the RECs Head of Public Policy.

The meeting will also feature a question and answer session with Kevin Green, the RECs Chief Executive on the organisations plans and aims.

The meeting is open to all members of REC Engineering & Technical and will take place in Manchester on April 15.  For more information visit the website, www.rec.uk.com/engineeringandtechnical
