FOR THE PERFECT JOB WITH PPDG
AMBITIOUS LEARNERS CAN RE-EDUCATE FOR THE PERFECT JOB WITH PPDG
Pertemps People Development Group (PPDG) is urging Teessiders to take the lead from scores of learners who are transforming their own lives by re-educating in pursuit of their ideal jobs.
PPDG is encouraging everyone - employed or unemployed - who have a desire to better themselves to take advantage of its in-house learndirect facilities to up-skill to help secure the perfect job for them.
In the last nine months alone almost three quarters of the people who have engaged with the learndirect services at the PPDG centres in Redcar, Thorntree and Stockton have successfully achieved qualifications. This will see those out of work be better placed to compete for jobs in high demand or those in work to improve their existing prospects.
PPDG which is steadily opening more and more advancement centres across the wider North of England - has seen many of those it has helped through learndirect go on to secure employment. (CASE STUDY BELOW)
Competition for jobs is very high at present so its important people have qualifications to be able to compete, said David Ward, northern area operations director. It can be daunting for someone to consider learning new skills but without such skills their job application could simply be overlooked.
We would encourage people to contact us for information on how we can help them improve their prospects with a totally flexible service that can fit round anybodys circumstances.
One successful learner, 41-year-old Andrea Jackson, from Guisborough, is an ambitious mum-of-three who is keen to move up the career ladder from healthcare assistant to assistant practitioner in the dialysis department at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
Andrea is undertaking a Healthcare Assistant foundation degree at Teesside University and is also required to gain literacy and numeracy qualifications to achieve her desired role.
Andrea struggled to make the scheduled lessons at the hospital because of her university timetable and working hours so she went to her local learndirect within the PPDG centre in Redcar, where she could learn at flexible times, five days a week.
Despite no formal studying for 25 years, she has achieved three levels in numeracy and two levels in literacy in just eight months completing at level two in both last month.
My family are very proud of me and I feel like I am showing my children that anything is possible if you set your mind to it, said Andrea.
Her university course finishes in May 2011 and she will then have achieved her goal of becoming a fully qualified assistant practitioner.
Mr Ward, said: Andrea is just one of many great ambassadors for PPDG as she has taken it upon herself to up-skill to give her the best opportunity to get where she wants to be in life anyone can do the same if they get in touch with us.
