Gap Personnel appoints logistics expert to launch new division

North Wales recruitment services company gap personnel is forging ahead with the launch a new division focusing on executive level logistics and warehousing appointments.
It has appointed respected operator in the sector, Paul Thomas, to head up the department.
Widely travelled Paul brings with him years of experience working in logistics across Europe in a senior management position. Before joining gap personnel, he was UK-wide manager with leading Dutch-owned logistics firm, Wim Bosman, from its base in Llay, near Wrexham.
Previously he had worked in warehousing and third party logistics provision for other businesses in Wrexham area, though he originally trained as a mechanical engineer upon first leaving school aged 16.
I came up through the ranks, working in design and development, product management and HR earlier in my career, before being promoted into the logistics management role when I joined Wim Bosman.
He is looking forward to meeting the many challenges of his new role, dealing with high end planning, managerial and director level appointments.Headquartered in Wrexham, gap personnel has grown to achieve a 50m brand turnover through a network of 30 branches in locations ranging from Glasgow to Newton Abbot, Devon.
He has a wide range of contacts within logistics departments and companies in many parts of the UK, through which he will receive instructions to fill posts, using gaps extensive branch network to source candidates to fill them.
Paul believes his multi-disciplined career background will be a key asset when matching the right candidates to the right roles in industry. Many of those we will be consulting will already be in employment but looking to further their careers to a higher level. We can proactively help them, as well as offering an unrivalled database of potential recruits to companies seeking skilled and ambitious leadership personnel.
Paul has long established associations with gap personnel, having used its recruitment services to meet logistics requirements in his previous employment.
I am impressed with gaps professionalism. It is a forward-thinking company with a great deal to offer both company clients and candidates looking for permanent or temporary work.
Now that I am here I can see for myself how enthusiastic and driven the workforce is. There is a real team ethos.
The move into recruitment services is a way for him to continue using his wealth of knowledge and logistics expertise while at the same time giving him a more settled career base.
After years of travelling across Europe, it was time to change my work-life balance a little. Make no mistake I will still be working as hard as ever on behalf of our clients, but after work I will be at home a little more. In his spare time Paul enjoys playing golf in the summer and skiing in the winter.
He grew up in Conwy and now lives in Deganwy with wife, Christine who works for the National Trust at Penrhyn Castle. They have a son, Sean, 19, currently studying music at Huddersfield University.
