Jobsites mobile ad campaign wins global award

Jobsites mobile ad campaign wins global award

Jobsites mobile ad campaign has been honoured with a Mobile Merit Award, which recognises excellence across the global mobile industry. With leading international brands such as Nokia, Kodak and NBC entering the awards, Jobsites mobile advertising agency Yodel Digital submitted the Jobsite mobile campaign to scoop Best Brand Agency in the Mobile Marketing category.

Entrants were judged by a panel of leading mobile industry executives, media and consultants on industry impact, innovation, technologies, social importance, implementation and overall success factor. The awards cover all aspects of mobility including: devices, infrastructure, applications, social/digital medium, 4G technologies, mobile marketing and media.

The winning Jobsite mobile campaign was run throughout January and February 2010 in support of their nationwide TV advertising. Featuring 15 second edits of the TV creatives, the ads appeared prior to requested news and sports reports on key mobile sites such as Sky and ITN and on the news services of the biggest phone operators, including Orange and 3. It is one of the largest UK mobile video campaigns to date with the Jobsite ads being shown more than 2 million times by the end of the two month run. It is also the first video mobile campaign in the UK to be shown across multiple carriers, apps and publishers at the same time.

The campaign was hugely successful and demonstrated the largest shift in brand awareness that the research agency, analysing the results, had ever seen via mobile.  There was a 427% increase in traffic to the Jobsite mobile site, putting it at the front of their market in the mobile space. It also proved to be incredibly strong against other advertising mediums such as TV and print, with 40% of those that saw the Jobsite advert seeing it on their mobile.

Felix Wetzel, Jobsite Group Marketing Director, comments Were always looking at new ways to reach and engage with our target audience and are well known for being the first to try innovative new solutions. Yodel Digital are pioneers in the UK mobile space so were the obvious choice for us when looking to explore this area. The campaign theyve worked with us on has been incredibly successful, resulting in significant gains in traffic to Jobsite and increased brand awareness. To have this success recognised by the Mobile Merit Awards and to win as a UK based brand and agency against such global heavyweights is a real testament to how well this campaign performed.

Mick Rigby, Chairman of Yodel Digital, continues This campaign was a first for us in using TV creative adapted specifically for mobile as part of wider advertising activity. Its set a benchmark for how this can be done effectively and brands, both in the recruitment space and other sectors, are now looking to follow the Jobsite approach. Such is its trailblazing nature that its provided key learnings on mobiles impact on brand awareness, usage considerations and integration into above the line advertising. Weve been asked to speak at conferences about this campaign and to provide details for reports and presentations in this field, with the IAB wishing to use it as a key mobile case study for 2010. Whilst the key thing for us is that the campaign performed for the client, its fantastic to be able to continue our innovation in the mobile industry and to have the campaign recognised by the Mobile Merit Awards when it was up against outstanding work by global brands.
