Manchester Professionals In a League of their own

Manchester Professionals In a League of their own

Sellick Partnership are pleased to announce the launch of the 2010 Manchester Professionals Cricket League (MPCL). The league was established last year by Jo Sellick, managing director of Sellick Partnership, for professional service businesses across Manchester.

A total of twenty eight teams, four more than last year, have signed up to the League this year, including the Big 4, which will run from the beginning of May, with fixtures taking place at cricket clubs across the City. The competition will come to a grand finale on Friday 16th July 2010 at Timperley Cricket Club.

Alongside the MPCL, Sellick Partnership are running a rounders league which has generated significant interest this year, with a total of twelve teams signing up for the tournament. Commencing at the start of May, all of the games will be hosted at William Hulme Grammar School.

With the organisation and co-ordination of the Leagues in full swing, keen player and cricket supporter Jo Sellick, MD has commented, I am thrilled with the support and interest that both the Manchester Professionals Cricket League and the rounders have received across the business community. Over the course of the summer, a total of 98 cricket games will be played and 33 rounders games which is fantastic from both a sports perspective, but also in terms of generating a solid networking platform. Additionally all proceeds from the League and related events go to St. Anns Hospice and the Lords Taverners last year we raised over 5000, which we are aiming to double this year.

The achievements and successes of both the cricket and rounders leagues will be celebrated on the 7th October 2010 at the End of Season Awards Dinner, hosted at the Lowry hotel with guest speaker, ex-England cricket captain Alec Stewart.
