Scantec plans overseas growth at World Expo Shanghai

Leading North West recruitment agency Scantec is sponsoring the Shanghai Expo to drive forward the growth of its overseas division.

The Wirral based firm invested in the event after meeting with Liverpool Vision at a Shanghai Expo sponsors event at the Echo Arena & Convention Centre in March. The firm will show case its technical and engineering expertise at the event through a promotional film.

The overseas division was launched two years ago and predominantly supplies personnel to the energy, nuclear, oil & gas, chemical and petrochemical sectors. Scantec saw a 60pc rise in recruitment overseas during quarter one 2010 compared to last year and hope capitalise on this success at the Expo.
John Robinson, Chairman of Scantec, said Expo was an opportunity to showcase Scantecs technical skills to the world.

Mr Robinson said: Scantec is a highly experienced technical and engineering recruitment firm and we wanted to display to an international audience that Scantec has the technical infrastructure and skills base to supply personnel globally. The Expo might bring more business into Merseyside and we wanted to highlight the capability of the region to work within the technical and engineering sector. Our overseas division currently supplies personnel to the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. We are confident that the Expo will give us a wider audience to Chinese and non Chinese businesses.

The promotional film was shot during April by Liverpool Shanghai Expo media partners River Media. The film showcases the skills and divisions that Scantec specialise in, the building and staff and has introductory and closing comments from Chairman Mr Robinson.

Mr Robinson said that the film will be the basis of its presence at the World Expo Shanghai.

The film will be voiced in English as well as Mandarin and will be displayed within the dedicated Liverpool Pavilion in a specialised technical/engineering section, he said. It will be shown for the duration of the Expo and USBs will be available for interested delegates to take about Scantec. The main message of the film is that Scantec has the capability to supply manpower to projects globally, especially within the energy & power generation sectors.

Scantec hope to make further use of the film as a marketing tool, Mr Robinson said: We want to add the film to our website in a several different languages to welcome and attract potential overseas businesses. We are keen to see how the film and our presence at the Expo will help with further growing our business internationally.
