Awesome Foursome weekend of events:
The hospitality industry leads the way in showing the world that England can successfully stage large international events
Last weekend witnessed the culmination of a busy week for the events industry. The Chelsea Flower Show the League one and two football play-off finals the Guinness Premiership final and England v Barbarians rugby matches, and the 1st npower Test at Lords all take place this weekend.
Recruitment specialist Berkeley Scott is the single largest supplier of specialist staff to these events. Managing director Mark Darby comments we have had to mobilise 2500 events staff for these huge occasions, who all demand the very best staff, whether that be for corporate hospitality, food preparation (chefs) or front of house.
In further celebration of the countrys ability to successfully stage truly global events Darby asserts that the staff we use transcend nationalities we have some outstanding British workers who are supplemented with those from around the globe, demonstrating that we really are multicultural
This weekend is a test for the hospitality industry and Berkeley Scott have been able to showcase the very best that it can achieve and rise to the challenge, flying the flag for the industry. However, Darby does sound an advisory note in the run up to the Olympics we can only enlist this many people to these events because we have invested in our brand and network over a prolonged period. We will continue to do this, but the industry as a whole must invest and it needs support to achieve this. We need to be attracting the highest calibre of individual to ensure that they can represent our country to the world in 2012 the work starts now
