Leading financial services recruiter appoints new head of Hong Kong office
Astbury Marsden, the leading financial services recruitment firm, has appointed Sam Brown to head up their Hong Kong office.
Sam, who has been recruiting within financial services for over seven years, joins Astbury Marsden from Hays Recruitment, where he was a Senior Recruitment Consultant. Prior to that he was a manger at Link Recruitment, a role which saw him open and manage their office in South Australia. Under his guidance, revenue for the region trebled between 2006 and 2008.
Jonathan Nicholson, Managing Director at Astbury Marsden, comments: We are delighted to welcome Sam to our Hong Kong office. For several years our clients have asked us to undertake projects for them outside the UK and although the Hong Kong office only opened last year it has been very well received by both local and global players. Our team there recruit for a variety of roles across Investment Banking, Wealth Management and Private Banking.
We have ambitious plans to drive our business forward within Asia over the next two years and see Hong Kong as a vital centre. Sam has a proven record of increasing revenue, building profitable teams and expanding businesses in a new region. We are confident he will quickly build on Astbury Marsdens growing credibility in the country.
Astbury Marsden was formed in 1995 before Managing Director Jonathan Nicholson and Chief Operating Officer Mark Cameron led a management buyout in 2007. Revenue for the firm has increased from 1.9 million in 2002 to over 30 million in 2009.
Sam Brown says: Astbury Marsden has an extremely talented team in place in London, and the opportunity to join them in Hong Kong was too good to turn down. We are now making very frequent placements across a whole range of job functions, with candidates drawn from both a regional and international pool.
