Apprentice Winner Lee McQueen gives hope to the unemployed
After two successful years working with Lord Sugar, Apprentice winner Lee McQueen has just launched his first solo business venture helping to give hope to the unemployed.
Raw Talent Academy aims to provide SMEs and corporate organisations with the vehicle to build internal sales academies into long term staffing plans and to encourage organisations to look at the wider raw talent we have in the UK and not just graduates.
Lee, who has over ten years experience working in recruitment and over seven years as an employer of sales people, is passionate about giving job seekers an opportunity to earn a career and Raw Talent Academy aims to give the unemployed community that chance. Lee says, Im looking for people with common sense that are streetwise, confident and likeable. They dont need to have a CV or qualification to make them stand out. Im interested in investing in people and not in a piece of paper.
As academy director, Lee will take a hands-on approach by personally mentoring individual candidates and provide them with comprehensive, modular sales training. Raw Talent Academy will run within individual businesses, so all training will be done on the job in a living and breathing working environment. Each training programme is uniquely designed to provide targeted support and development for all sales staff sourced for each business that starts an academy.
Lee says, Ive learnt the hard way. At 18 I had a mortgage and was working two jobs. At one stage I was working as a stock controller at a school where the fees per year were more than my entire mortgage! I left school early, worked my way up and gained some invaluable experience under Lord Sugar. I want to use everything I have learnt and share my knowledge to help benefit others. Thats why I have established Raw Talent Academy to give those with drive, desire and ambition the chance to achieve the goals.
