Headway strengthens offering in Yorkshire

Headway strengthens offering in Yorkshire

The father and son team behind a Yorkshire recruitment consultancy is marking its 30th anniversary with an industry merger this month.

David and Mark Gill, who run Headway Recruitment which was founded in Leeds and is one of the regions longest and most established independent recruitment consultancies, are joining forces with Bradford-based Top Recruitment to combine expertise, resource and present a cohesive recruitment body for West Yorkshire.

Headway Recruitment was established in Leeds in May 1980 and now occupies prestigious offices in City Square. A second branch was opened in central Bradford in 1985 and founder and Managing Director David Gill went on to expand the Headway portfolio with the acquisition in 1992 of Pudsey-based Chase Employment, followed by Top Recruitment in 1995.

Headway and Top Recruitment have operated independently for over 15 years but their union this month sees a strengthened recruitment provision for the region built on a united team with an unprecedented average of 15 years service.
David Gill says: The two businesses will operate under the Headway name from the beginning of September and our new status sees the company at its largest in three decades.

Our recruitment placements span all sectors and the merger provides additional reassurances in terms of our resource and expertise in a very difficult employment climate. We feel the new look, strengthened Headway Recruitment is happening at just the right time given the current climate and our significant business knowledge means we are in a strong position to support all those looking for work in the future.
