An employment agency in the South of England is taking to the road locally in a recruitment wagon in what is believed to be the first initiative of its kind in the country.
Rubicon Peoples iconic new VW Camper Van will soon be blazing its purple trail with regular fixtures in towns across Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset from mid-September.
Jessica Jones, the firms customer development manager, said: Money is tight for a lot of job hunters so it makes sound sense to deliver our registration services to their doorstep, saving candidates the time and travel expenses in getting to their nearest recruitment centre.
Its a convenient, innovative way of bringing opportunities to those who might otherwise miss out, and it means we can also call in at clients, many of whom are hiring at the moment.
She added: Weve been supplying businesses across Dorset with talented individuals for nearly 30 years and the brand new recruitment wagon is another example of how our firm stands out from the crowd.
From what weve been told, this is the first recruitment wagon in the country, if not the UK, and we anticipate considerable interest as we tour.
There are also plans to roll-out into the western half of Southampton in Hampshire as we will be in that direction. The wagon, which is being kitted out with wireless office IT, will complement our website and walk-in recruitment centre.
Rubicon People, which has nearly 20 staff in its recruitment centre and headquarters in Poole, Dorset, supplies temporary and permanent placements for industry, commerce and engineering, including well-known businesses and organisations.
They include food giant Jordans Ryvita, Dorset Cereals, tea and coffee blenders Spicers, Clipper, Olives Et Al and NHS hospitals.
