A WISE PLACEMENT FOR HR GO

A WISE PLACEMENT FOR HR GO

To mark the death of our British treasure, Sir Norman Wisdom, who died on Monday at the age of 95, national recruitment and business services group, HR GO plc, looks back to the 1960s when they were asked to recruit him a personal assistant.

Parkinson Staff Bureau, as HR GO was known back in the 1960s, was the perfect choice for Sir Norman and his recruitment needs. The company was founded in Dartford in 1957 and Sir Norman grew up in Deal so both had strong links within Kent.

Betty Hubbard was the Branch Manager of the Ramsgate branch of Parkinson Staff Bureau who dealt with Sir Norman. Jack Parkinson, HR GO plc Chairman, comments on her fond memories she shared with Jack As I am sure we can all imagine, he was a very different to the usual clients on their books but it was a very easy job to find candidates interested in becoming his personal assistant. He was extremely friendly and courteous to all of the branch team and always had a joke with them. He even had Betty modelling his trademark tweed cap, of course askew and peak turned up.
