David Winterburn re-elected President of ECSSA
David Winterburn, the former Chairman of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, has been re-elected President of the ECSSA, the European search and selection organisation which he helped to form.
The European Confederation of Search and Selection Associations now represents nearly 600 search and selection consultancies across France, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg and the UK.
Among the plans David has during his forthcoming two year tenure is to introduce a European-wide Certified Executive Search qualification to the UK. So far, more than 100 executive recruiters across European have attained this accolade.
A Fellow of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) and a former Chair of the Association of Executive Recruiters (AER), David was elected ECSSAs President in 2008 having previously served as its non-executive director and UK ambassador.
Commenting on his re-election as ECSSA President, David said: I am delighted that the executive committee and membership have shown such confidence in the progress we have made over the past two years. It has been an extremely productive time for us especially with the fairly recent addition of Luxembourg into membership which has fulfilled our pledge to grow the organisation across Europe.
We hope to continue our strategic expansion into other countries over the next two years.
He will be supported on the ECSSA Board by a newly appointed Deputy President (Etienne Deroure from France) and his General Secretary (Jorg Murmann from Germany) has also been re-elected for a second term.
David is the Managing Director of the Leeds based headhunting firm, Harrison Winterburn Associates Ltd and is also a member of Council for the Institute of Directors. Recently, he was also appointed a Non-Executive Director of the British American Business Council.
