Hart Recruitment raises 2,200 for Macmillan Cancer Support

A Birmingham company has doubled the cash it hoped to raise by organising a charity male and female 5-a-side football competition.
Phillippa Hart, managing director of Hart Recruitment at Great Barr, said: We aimed for 1,000 but in fact raised over 2,200 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Twenty teams took part in the event organised at Goals in Perry Barr including one made up of former Aston Villa and Birmingham City players.
Winners of the male team competition was Kingstanding while the female winners were Helens Hooligans.
There were various off-pitch money-raisers including a raffle with top prizes of a weeks accommodation in Bulgaria courtesy of ART Cleaning and a golf day at the Forest of Arden Hotel Country Club courtesy of Centrepoint Creative.
Phillippa added: This is the first time we have organised such a large event and we wanted it to be a fun day for all the family. Thats what it was with the added bonus of raising so much money for such a worthwhile charity.  Well definitely be doing something similar next year.
Helen Rogers, Macmillan fundraising manager, said, We are delighted that Hart Recruitment are supporting Macmillan in this way and would like to thank everyone at Hart for organising the event.
They have raised an incredible amount which will help Macmillan to make sure people with cancer have more good days.
