POOLIA PARTNERS CITY GATEWAY IN DRIVE TO SUPPORT INCLUSIVE EMPLOYMENT

Poolia and City Gateway will be joining forces to create a series of programmes and events to support people looking for work amongst disadvantaged communities in Tower Hamlets. From workshops to workplace tours, placements and specific training sessions on areas such as handling an interview or writing a CV, Poolia will be sharing its expertise to enable more people to get into the right job.

City Gateway is a charity dedicated to bringing hope to the local communities of Tower Hamlets that have been excluded from the area's wider economic development. They connect with local women and disadvantaged young people and run programmes which engage them, train them and provide them with the skills and opportunities they need to enter work or further education. City Gateway was set up by a group of City workers involved in local churches, keen to support the community around them.

Eddie Stride, City Gateway's CEO says, 'Active partnerships with firms like Poolia are really key to the work City Gateway does mentoring, engaging and training the most socially excluded groups in Tower Hamlets. We really appreciate the support we get from Poolia, and we hope that this will encourage other companies to get involved in helping create apprenticeship opportunities for local people, or to support City Gateway's work in other ways.'

Poolia director Olivia Yost said, In addition to helping to raise funds for specific activities, our people will be sharing our experience and knowledge of the London job market to support City Gateways work. We will provide insight, training, workshops, placement and internship opportunities directly as well as through the companies we work with.
This is a really exciting opportunity for us because our people can become directly involved in a cause that is really worthwhile and is about what we know best: placing people in jobs which they enjoy and make the most of their skills.
