REC National Convention: renowned futurologist heads list of distinguished speakers

 
A distinguished line-up of speakers has now been confirmed for the RECs second National Convention being held in London on Tuesday October 26.
 
Dr James Bellini, the leading futurologist and author will be the opening plenary speaker and will take as his subject, The Future of Recruitment which is the main theme of the Convention.
 
Confirmed as the second plenary speaker is Paul Harrison, Managing Partner of  social media networks  company, Carve Consulting, who was one of the contributors to the REC's Social Media in Recruitment report published earlier this year and is a renowned expert on how best to make most of the new opportunities social networking offers to the industry.
 
Other highlights of the day will include a panel discussion chaired by Dr Bellini on "The Future of Recruitment, Challenge or Crisis". Kevin Green, the RECs Chief Executive will be joined on on the panel by John Cowling, Chief Executive of Jobserve, Peter Searle, Chief Executive of Spring Group plc and Sue O'Brien, Chief Executive at Norman Broadbent. 
 
Among the experts leading the days Masterclasses is Edward Oakden, Managing Director of UK Trade and Industry whose new role is to assist the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister boost and support British trade. He will be talking about how to access international markets. Other speakers now confirmed for the masterclasses include Jayne Mee, Group HR Director for Barratt Homes.
 
Bringing the convention to a close will be Guardian columnist, Guy Browning, the self- confessed David Attenborough of the business jungle who will be imparting his own brand of wit and wisdom to the final plenary, The Personal Revolution.
 
The National Convention will provide a platform for recruiters to hear about the key challenges and opportunities which now face the industry and will give new and exciting perspectives on ways to develop their businesses to meet the demands of the future.
