Scottish firm takes the strain off the competition

Fife based recruitment company, Brae Scotland, has a novel way of approaching its competitors: by offering to support their resourcing needs. Their business model, one of the most competitive in the UK, ideally lends itself to a split fee arrangement and has served them well in building relationships with fellow recruiters looking to fill positions north of the border.

Times have been challenging for independent recruiters with many downsizing to ensure their financial health. However, as the market picks up, some find themselves without the consultants and resources to cope with demand.

Karen Robertson, Managing Director at Brae, explains: Agencies are more open to working together in todays tough business climate. Some fee is better than no fee and we are on hand to offer local knowledge, candidates and resources. By working in partnership, our agency partners can use our resources, fill a position and service a wider geographical area than they normally would.

Jean Fenwick, TEAMs Regional Director for Scotland, has seen Brae Scotland build relationships with several agency members over the last few months. TEAM is a great platform for SME agencies to work together to ensure the highest levels of service and fulfilment for their Clients. Our members normally work on a 50/50 split fee basis but Brae has bucked this trend by working to their standard fee structure, allowing their partner agencies to retain the majority of their permanent fees. Its a win-win situation all round and having seen the professionalism and dedication of the Brae TEAM myself, I have recommended them to several valued business contacts.

Braes split fee partners are based throughout the UK, covering a wide range of industries and skills sets.
