4 U Recruitment reaches remarkable safety milestone
South Wales-based 4 U Recruitment has reached a million man-hours of work completed, without a single serious accident since the company began, back in 2005.
This feat is made all the more remarkable as the company places candidates in construction and engineering jobs, where rigorous health and safety standards need to be adhered to.
The commendable milestone was achieved, says Managing Director Nigel Lewis, thanks to the companys stringent commitment to legislation and compliance:
We invest around 50,000 each year in health and safety compliance and even though the construction sector has experienced a tough few years, training is even more crucial than ever to ensure staff are properly equipped with the skills to do the job.
4 U Recruitment places around 1000 staff in permanent and temporary vacancies within the construction and engineering sectors each year to only have three minor accidents and no serious incidents amongst all these individuals is a phenomenal record of which were extremely proud.
In order to stay ahead of changing legislation, staff at 4 U Recruitment undertake at least four new training and compliance qualifications each year.
We work in a sector with a high-risk of accidents due to the physical nature of the job.  It has never been more important to invest in your staff, especially in our line of work, continued Nigel.
But our commitment as a company to safety has enabled us to expand our work remit and garner a reputation of offering qualified and compliant individuals in any role or responsibility within the engineering and construction sectors.
Much of the recruitment firms training is delivered through the National Construction College, which is the training division of CITB-ConstructionSkills.
Andy Walder, Director of the National Construction College, said: We work tirelessly with the construction sector to ensure its training needs are met, placing businesses in the very best position to pitch for new contract opportunities in a constantly changing and fiercely competitive market.
Health and safety training is paramount to the success of the industry and 4 U Recruitment are proof that continued commitment to training and keeping abreast of health and safety legislation can help businesses remain safe and successful.
