HEIGHTENED COMPETITION FOR ACCOUNTANCY JOBS

HEIGHTENED COMPETITION FOR ACCOUNTANCY JOBS

Wales newly qualified accountants will need to be the best of the best in order to get their foot on the career ladder.

This is the message from Cardiff Bay based company NOW Accountancy who are the main sponsors of the 2010 ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) new members evening which takes place this Friday (19th November) at St Davids Hotel & Spa.

Branch Manager of NOW Accountancy, Ceri Leath says: Although general consensus across all industries is that the 2011 Order Books look promising, there is still a lack of confidence from employers to get out there and recruit new staff.

And from the candidate side, due to the envisaged influx of public sector accountancy professionals looking for work because of the proposed cuts, the competition for jobs is going to get tougher.

Relevant qualifications, good work experience and a can-do attitude are the attributes that employers are looking out for. There will always be jobs for good people and, being a company whose sole purpose is to find the cream of the crop for Welsh employers, well be on hand at this event to speak to newly qualified accountants about suitable opportunities.

Nearly 140 guests will be attending this years event which includes 50 new qualified members. The keynote speaker will be Lesley Everett. Her talk entitled Stand Out from the Crowd The Importance of Your Personal Brand will be one of the main features of the event.
