Resource Group Announce Acquisition of Cwmbran Training College
Resource Group is proud to announce the acquisition of BAE Systems Cwmbran Training College as of 1st November. The college, previously known as Dundridge College, operates as an accredited CAA training provider for Air Traffic Control, Electronic Warfare, Air Defence and Aviation English.
The acquisition of Cwmbran Training College from BAE Systems supports Resource Groups commitment to the Aerospace sector and compliments the existing service offerings of the group including flight crew leasing, safety-critical software engineering, MRO project support, specialist engineering recruitment and EASA training.
John Larkin, Managing Director of Resource Group comments: "Cwmbran Training College was a natural acquisition for us as it complements our existing services. The services offered by the college are world class and help us to enhance our service offering to the Aerospace, Aviation and Defence sectors."
Larkin continues: Changing market conditions mean we are finding that more and more of our service offerings are requiring a joint input from engineering, recruitment and training divisions to offer the customer a bespoke risk-sharing solution to their requirements. Cwmbran College further strengthens our ability to meet the needs of our clients in a highly competitive market.
The acquisition of the college will further strengthen the skill sets and expertise within the current Resource Group portfolio providing synergies and areas for inter-company cooperation.
Steve Ward, College Principal comments: This positive step forward will add an unparalleled level of diversity and resilience to our extensive training portfolio, and we look forward to fully supporting Resource Groups capabilities in the Aerospace, Aviation & Defence sectors.
This acquisition comes at an excellent time for Cwmbran College as they have recently opened their training facility in Doncaster this October to geographically expand their training offering. This new state of the art facility provides students with more flexibility in where they can receive the relevant courses. It also enables the college to expand their capacity to ensure future growth. With strong links in the aerospace, defence and aviation markets Resource Group will be able to support the college in their continued expansion plans with a number of sales and marketing activities.
Ward continues: The transition to Resource Group provides an immense opportunity for the college to continue to develop its home markets, while maximising the prospects in the wider international training arena. This is an excellent time for the college to pursue new markets that Resource Group is already working within, supported by the backing of such an established versatile aerospace provider.
As of today Cwmbran College will be branded Resource Training and will operate as a division of Resource Group. This acquisition sees Resource Group increase in size to 165 staff across 6 locations in Europe.
