Triple success for GCS
Triple success for GCS
GCS Recruitment Specialists have just capped an incredible year by winning three coveted awards in one week.
Following its Three Star award by the Best Companies organisation earlier in the year, where GCS was judged to be exceptional, the companys reputation as an inspiring employer was underlined when it took the title of the Best Recruitment Company to Work For at Recruitment Internationals awards dinner held in London and just a week later GCS has also achieved The Best Company to Work For at the annual Thames Valley Business Awards.
The Thames Valley Business Awards, which are now in their 16th year, were held on 18th November also saw GCS win the prestigious title of Thames Valley Business of the Year.
At the awards ceremony, which was held at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, managing directors Chris Bartlett and David Bloxham were presented with their trophies by the former Liberal Democrat leader the Rt Hon Lord Paddy Ashdown.
Judges of the Pitmans sponsored Thames Valley Business of the Year said they had been impressed by GCS's passion for its business, its market and its sense of community and called it a real incubator of talent. Vail Williams, sponsors of the Best Company to Work For, said: Passion, diversity, improvement and integrity are the four words that drive this company.
Bartlett declared himself thrilled, flattered and a little humbled by the comments made by each of the sponsors and dedicated the awards to the fantastic people who have worked for GCS throughout the companys 20 year history.
We are in the best shape ever we have an incredibly talented group of people at GCS. Many joined us as graduates and have grown with the company, including David Bloxham, who became my fellow director in 2008.We have also been fortunate in being joined by more senior recruits who have all contributed by adding their own enthusiasm and skills
In the autumn, GCS restructured to form four distinct divisions GCS Finance, GCS Engineering, GCS Digital Media and GCS Technology transforming itself over the past two decades from a regional IT recruitment agency into a major international business with a 26m turnover. It employs 70 staff between offices in Reading, London, Dublin and mainland Europe.
Our restructure in terms of our new brands has been very well received Bartlett explained. With the passion of our staff and our thorough understanding of our clients business requirements, GCS is currently on target for its best trading year ever. In light of the precarious state of the economy over recent months, this will be a remarkable achievement.
Winning these awards gives us the confidence that what we are building something very special at GCS and if the economy continues to improve then I am confident that this is just the beginning
