Barker Ross snow clearance team helps ensure play goes ahead at Welford Road
Finding workers at short notice to help remove heavy snow from Leicester Tigers stadium has earned a Leicester recruitment agency warm praise from the rugby club.
De Montfort Street agency Barker Ross supplied 25 temporary staff to assist with snow clearance at Welford Road just hours before the Tigers Aviva Premiership clash with Newcastle Falcons on Saturday.
Jack Russell, Leicester Tigers stadium manager, said he was most impressed with the De Montfort Street agencys fast response to its plea for assistance and the attitude and ability of the workers.
Describing the efforts to ensure Welford Road was safe for players and supporters as Herculean, he said: Barker Ross supplied us with excellent workers who worked hard to get the job done.
This is the second time this year that the agency has helped  the rugby club to get a game on at short notice and I have nothing but praise for Barker Rosss duty team and the people they  provided.
The 25 temporary workers joined Tigers personnel and volunteers to hand sweep, shovel and hand barrow 20 tons of snow from the pitch and 15 tons of snow from the terraces. They also helped grit terraces and surrounding roads and walkways.
Ian Everett, Barker Rosss Leicester branch manager, added: Were delighted our workers efforts enabled play to go ahead at Welford Road as scheduled.
We pride ourselves on our ability to respond quickly to staffing needs and on having good people on our books.
If the current cold snap continues we may well be supplying snow clearance teams to Tigers again this winter.
