New Appointment Means Business At Robinson College

New Appointment Means Business At Robinson College
Robinson College in Cambridge is expanding its conference team with the appointment of Rose McDonald as Head of Sales.
In her new role, Rose will be focusing on promoting the Colleges Conference facilities to a wider audience, highlighting its suitability for events of all types from one-day meetings to residential conferences. In addition to client meetings, Rose will be involved in on-site visits and new business initiatives.
Rose has worked in the events/hospitality sector for many years. Her last role was at Wyboston Lakes as Senior National Sales Manager looking after a portfolio of prestigious corporate and agency accounts as well as leading new business drives.
Taking an active role in industry issues for many years, Rose is on the Marketing Committee for the Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA) and about to join the Marketing Committee for Conference Cambridge.
Rose says: Its great to be joining the team at Robinson College and being able to use my experience gained over 25 years to grow our conference and events business and explore new sectors we can work with.
Not many people realise that we also offer Bed and Breakfast bookings for the corporate and leisure traveller, as well as offering on-site car parking and located just a short walk to the centre of Cambridge.
I also want to overcome some misconceptions about using College facilities. We can offer as much, if not more, than many venues in the UK with a flexible approach that wont break the bank in these challenging economic times. We have recently introduced three levels of inclusive delegate packages to give clients the choice of what is important to them.
Nick Milne, Conference & Catering Manager added: We are delighted to welcome Rose to our team. She is highly regarded within the industry and her in-depth experience will complement the extensive knowledge we already have within the conference team.
Robinson College was purpose-built with conferences in mind to bring in revenue and regularly hosts residential and day conferences for over 250 delegates and drinks and canap receptions for up to 700. With its modern buildings and traditional values, it offers year-round conference facilities. These include purpose-built theatres with state-of-the-art audio visual technology supported by trained technicians, award-winning cuisine and a location that allows excellent access from major road links and yet only a short walk from the historical centre.
