NUMBER OF FEMALE INTERIMS AT ALL TIME HIGH

NUMBER OF FEMALE INTERIMS AT ALL TIME HIGH

The number of women on interim assignments is on the rise, according to the Interim Management Associations (IMA) latest quarterly Ipsos MORI market audit, with the figures rising to an all time high.

Figures show women completed 39% of assignments in Q3, an increase of 10 percentage points from last quarter, and the highest amount since the IMAs survey started in Q1 2006.

IMA Chairman Paul Botting, commented on the increase:  We are always active in encouraging a diverse mix of individuals into the Interim Management industry and we hope to see this positive trend continuing its upward progression.

In addition to this, there has been an encouraging increase in the number of completed assignments by interim providers in Q3, which are up by 11% on the beginning of the year, indicating that the senior interim recruitment market is experiencing moderate growth.

The split between Public and Private Sector has remained fairly even over the last couple of years and this is no different in the latest results.  With 52% of assignments completed in the public sector, overall, Local Government (26%), Health (23%) and Central Government (15%) continued to take the lions share.  Despite a marginal drop in assignments, the private sector (48%) remains strong with Banking & Finance regaining its upward trend as the top requested industry, representing a 39% of assignments.

Paul Botting concluded: The figures paint a positive picture of Interim Management pointing towards continuing growth.
