REC Welcomes CBI stance on Boardroom Diversity

REC Welcomes CBI stance on Boardroom Diversity

The specialist sector groups within the REC dedicated to executive search and interim management have today welcomed the CBIs announcement following their submission to Lord Davies' review into the lack of women in executive positions.

Commenting on the CBIs submission, Derek Smart, Chair of the Association of Executive Recruiters (AER) said:

The diversity of a board sends an important signal to shareholders, investors, customers, the public and employees.  Attracting high quality female candidates, is, however, easier said than done. In this respect, it is important to articulate that all members of the AER are fully committed to initiatives which promote diversity in the boardroom and we fully endorse this submission from the CBI.

Echoing Derek Smarts comments, Paul Botting, Chair of the Interim Management Association (IMA) said:

"Diversity at the strategic level of any company is critical for both innovation and good decision making. Interim management providers have a key role to play by working with their clients to challenge the status quo and deliver tangible change to executive level appointments.

Both the Interim Management Association and Association of Executive Recruiters are playing a key role to promote the importance of diversity at senior positions, not least by informing clients.
