Timothy James Consulting is one of the Fastest Growing Companies in the UK

Senior Appointments Specialists ranked in Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 for two consecutive years

Timothy James Consulting has been ranked 61st in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 2010, rising 14 places from their 2009 award. The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 ranks Britain's 100 fastest-growing private companies, based on sales growth over 3 years. The award demonstrates the pace at which the Bristol based firm is growing, having opened a London office in March 2010, plans for a Manchester office in place for 2011, and Sydney in their sights in 2012.

Launched in 2003 in Bristol, by Peter Timothy Bennett and Christopher James OConnell, Timothy James Consulting has focussed on providing a quality senior appointments recruitment service within change management, project management, ICT, Marketing, E-Commerce, Human Resources, Procurement and Finance. The firm quickly established itself as a leading recruitment partner in these areas, working with public and private sector clients such as Lloyds Banking Group, Superdrug, Aviva and over 70% of all the NHS Trusts and Local Government Authorities.

The key to the firms success is, according to the two managing directors, customer experience and fun. The economic climate continues to be challenging, comments Bennett. We support our clients through these tough times by delivering best-in-class candidates that have the talent, experience and enthusiasm to tackle the wider challenges in the market. As a business, we require the same of our employees, which is why fun is of unprecedented value.

Bennett and OConnell have personally recruited and trained each member of the firms 51 fee-earners. This personalised approach has created a true team of recruiters who feel part of the fabric of the companys success and therefore are committed on providing a quality recruitment service.

OConnell adds, To attract and retain talent, we offer a market leading commission structure, super trips around the world, share options and individual rewards for high achievers. However, in an employee engagement survey taken earlier this year, there was an appetite for the opportunity for further education, charity nominations and participation in the cycle to work scheme. We have acted on all of these points, and now every member of staff has access to every one of them.

Appearing in the 2009 and 2010 league tables for Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100, means that Timothy James Consulting has had to demonstrate outstanding growth within a time of private sector and more unusually, public sector downturn. By innovating and continuing to improve their offering, Timothy James Consulting has managed to defy the wider industry trend and grow by 64% in 2009 and by over 70% in 2010. Innovations include a social media strategy to improve engagement and a revamped Candidate Services area of the website, which includes videos, podcasts and articles offering practical and interactive advice to those searching for work. Timothy James Consulting also became an affiliate of Professional Contracting Group, demonstrating their commitment to the contracting community.

As well as acting as a clear indicator of their continued growth and success, the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 award demonstrates to the consultants at Timothy James Consulting that their hard work and talent is valuable and recognised. According to OConnell and Bennett, this is an award that the consultants at Timothy James Consulting should take ownership of and that they fully deserve.

OConnell adds, The recruitment industry traditionally has a very high turnover of consultants, resulting in a sometimes lacklustre service to clients and candidates. However, this award clearly demonstrates if your consultants are rewarded, praised, developed and engaged with the business they work for and its future, then your company will continue to grow at a rapid rate in terms of headcount and profit.

2011 is set to be an exciting year for this Bristol based firm. Bennett closes with, We have grown more quickly than we anticipated but this shows that there is very much a demand for consultative recruitment solutions at a senior level, and as a team were very excited about delivering this.
