linkedFA Appoints Former 3Com Corp. Executive to Management team as Chairman of the Board
Social Networking Site for Financial Professionals Recruits Richard Joyce to Strengthen Executive Team for 2011 Global Growth
linkedFA, the first and only social networking site that enables financial professionals to inform, connect and interact with investors, clients and peers compliantly, announces the appointment of Richard Joyce to its executive team as it implements its 2011 global growth strategy.
Mr. Joyce has been in the communications industry for over 30 years, most notably serving in a variety of executive roles for 3Com Corp. (NASDAQ:
COMS) for 13 years. His roles with 3Com were as SVP of Worldwide Sales, and SVP of the Remote Access Products Division. Additionally, he was a member of the Worldwide Executive Committee for his last 7 years with 3Com. More recently he served as the Chairman of WIN (Wireless Information Network Ltd), a leading Mobile Data Services company from 2000 until 2009 which included venture capital funding from Goldman Sachs, and an IPO onto the AIM
(London) market in 2004. Other notable Chairman roles of software companies have included AssetHouse Technology Ltd (Digital Content Services), and CopperEye Limited (Data Management Solutions).
A veteran of the communications industry, Mr. Joyce is an advocate for social media use in the financial community and understands the importance of this medium as the new standard in effective communication for personal and business use. On joining linkedFA Mr. Joyce states: Due to regulatory concerns and constraints, the financial industry is resistant to embrace new communication technologies. Social media has changed the way we interact with the world, market products and do business. Mr. Joyce, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, has an active responsibility to build and manage the BoD and linkedFA Advisory Panels. He will leverage those resources to formulate a financing and product development strategy. As part of the global team, Mr. Joyce will be based in the UK to expand the offering throughout this market and into select international markets where demand is high.
