Students encouraged to set new records
Students encouraged to set new records in the next eFinancialCareers Investment Challenge
Undergraduate students from around the UK and Europe are today being offered the opportunity to try their hand at boosting an imaginary investment portfolio in the latest eFinancialCareers Investment Challenge trading game sponsored by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Students now have the chance to see if they can achieve even better returns on the management of their own fantasy fund than past champions, who have achieved returns of over 40%. Each student trader will start with an initial 10 million fantasy fund which they can invest in the European markets during a five week period.
Registration for the latest Investment Challenge opens today (10 January 2011), and participants have between 17 January until 18 February 2011 to compete against fellow students from universities across Europe and show off their investment acumen.
The competition is open for students who are graduating in either 2012 or 2013. In addition to cash prizes in each category, the winning male and female students graduating in the 2013 year group will automatically win a place in the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Insight Week, taking place in Spring 2011.
James Bennett, Managing Director EMEA and APAC for eFinancialCareers.com, said:
The Challenge is designed to give students a genuine taste of what a career in the City can be like, and enable them to hone their skills in a reality-based environment. This sort of hands-on experience potentially adds valuable weight to a students CV when it comes to entering the job market.
