New REC member events for 2011

New REC member events for 2011
After the success of the On The Road programme in 2010 and 2011 attended by nearly 2000 members, the REC is pleased to announce a new programme of events called In The Round.
In The Round comprises several informal and interactive sessions hosted by Kevin Green, the RECs Chief Executive, which have been created to stimulate a meaningful conversation with members about the big issues for the recruitment industry in 2011.
Among the topics being covered are:
The current state of the economy and its knock-on effect on our industry
Lobbying and campaigns for 2011
Services and products and how to maximise them to make the most of REC membership
Compliance and standards.
Commenting on the new events, Kevin Green said: We put the members at the centre of all we do and their feedback and comments help us to inform our policy positions and develop relevant services.
I look forward to meeting more members at In The Round this year and hearing their views and experiences so that we can continue creating and developing even more services, products and support which are based entirely on their needs.
The events are free to all members and will be held at the following venues:
March 9 -10, Birmingham and Nottingham
March 29-30, Manchester and Leeds
May 4-5, Cardiff and Bristol
May 24-25, Newcastle and Glasgow
June 24, Belfast
July 6-7, London and Portsmouth.
In The Round will be followed later in the year by even more opportunities for members to engage with the REC through The Big Conversation. This will comprise an itinerary of informal breakfasts and lunches held at venues in smaller towns and cities throughout the UK where members can continue to discuss with the REC the issues which matter to them.
In The Round and the Big Conversation are being sponsored by Brookson, the leading provider of accountancy, tax advice and accounting services to freelance contractors and individuals who work in business for themselves.
Commenting on the sponsorship of the two event programmes, Martin Hesketh, managing director of Brookson, said: As an organisation, the REC puts the needs of its members at the heart of everything it does and Brookson is keen to support the work it does.
