Smart Solutions Recruitment launches exciting new firm
Smart Solutions Recruitment, which has 14 offices across the UK, is launching a new professional recruitment services firm as part of its strategic plan to expand into new markets.
Branded separately from the main group as Edgar Stewart Selection Ltd, the new company has been created as part of Smarts continued growth strategy to expand in excess of 70% over its current financial year.
Working alongside Smarts focus on flexible, agency workers, Edgar Stewart will concentrate on contract, permanent, mid-market and senior appointments for a range of white collar private and public sector clients.
In the first instance it will specialise in manufacturing and technology, waste & renewable energy, legal, HR, private healthcare and commercial industries, and will expand into accountancy and IT within the near future.
Smarts CEO, Nathan Bowles, said: Having achieved significant market share in our key target sectors, and having succeeded in growing the company by more than 3,000% between 2007 and 2010, we decided that now was the perfect time for us to launch the next chapter in our development.
As a group, we are delighted to launch Edgar Stewart, which has been more than 12 months in the planning and design stage. Across 2011, we expect to invest around 500,000 in this new venture and create numerous employment opportunities for the highest calibre recruitment professionals.
We decided to form the business as a direct response to a number of our clients asking for help to fill professional white collar vacancies, and our analysis of our new competitors offering over the past 12 months.
We believe, as with Smart, we have created something new and unique to offer what has become a sometimes confusing and stale industry.  There is also a substantial gap in the market for innovative, quality-led and consultative professional services recruitment.
I am sure Edgar Stewart can play a key role in ensuring our clients receive the most professional advice and support they require to attract and retain the best talent as the economy recovers and competiveness for labour begins again.
Headquartered at Langstone Business Park, Newport, south Wales, Edgar Stewart will be headed up by Bruce Hydes, who joins the company with over 12 years experience in the professional services recruitment industry.
Originally from Scotland, Mr Hydes played an instrumental role in setting up an Edinburgh-based professional services recruitment start up, which he helped to grow into a business that employs 60 staff and where he became a Director himself for several years.
Commenting on his new role, Mr Hydes said: It was an easy decision to work with Nathan and the senior team at the Smart Solutions Group.  You only have to see their growth, ambition and unique approach to the recruitment sector to appreciate the scale of the opportunity this business has moving forward.
This ambition, coupled with excellent staff and board members, such as our chairman Paul Ragan, makes for a potent blend of experience and drive, which is sure to be successful.
We hope to mimic Smarts growth plans and launch regional centres in the midlands, London and south east to keep up with client demand and new business generation.
Bruce has recruited a team of six that have an average of more than ten years experience at a senior level in their sectors, whom he hopes will go on to lead their own teams. Mr Hydes commented: With the support of Smart, we have been able to take our time and select the very best recruiters to help with this exciting start up.
Smart was set up in 2007 by CEO Nathan Bowles as an alternative to the way many recruitment agencies operate, offering a number of value-added services including on-site recruitment support and management.
It operates in a number of specialist fields including waste and recycling, call centre, food production and manufacturing. It has 14 offices across the UK, with 75 employees, processing 1,700 timesheets every week, and a job seeker database of more than 10,000.
