CERN uses Automated Video Interviewing to manage Candidate Applications across 20 European Union Member States
One of the worlds largest and most respected centres for scientific research, CERN, has adopted Sonru's automated video interviewing tool to reduce recruitment delays and the costs associated with the sourcing of candidates from its 20 European Member States.
CERN, the European laboratory for particle physics, is one of the worlds largest and most respected centres for scientific research. From Nobel Prize winning physics to the invention of the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1989, its goal of pure research continues to contribute to science and technology. CERN discovered Sonrus award winning automated video interviewing solution at the HR Directors Business Summit in Birmingham in January where Sonru Founder Ed Hendrick presented a Master Class on using video technology to automate the recruitment process.Sonru has enabled CERNs recruitment team to manage the screening of applicants from a very geographically diverse base through their secure video interview solution. CERN is funded by 20 European Member States and as a result targets these states when sourcing candidates.James Purvis, Head of Recruitment, Programmes & Monitoring Group at CERN commented: "The Master Class provided a convincing insight into the possibilities Sonrus video interviewing tool could provide to reduce recruitment delays and costs.'' Mr Purvis continued: "We initially trialled the product on one particular post and used it to screen candidates in Greece, Canada, France, Switzerland and the U.K. Since then, weve made the decision to use Sonru on any post in CERN where communication / interpersonal skills are an important requirement. Additionally the system accommodated CERNs two official languages English and French. With a 100% response rate and absolutely no negative feedback from candidates and huge buy-in from the hiring team, Sonru is certainly the way forward for CERN."Edward Hendrick, Founder and Director of Business Development, Sonru.com commented: we are delighted to work with CERN and to add value to such an eminent and distinguished organisation. Video interviewing fits perfectly with their international sourcing strategy. Its ironic and also humbling that the organisation that invented the web are using our online video interview service to find the brightest people in the world to further their ambitions."
