The recruitment industry is facing far-reaching changes over the next five years with new legislation, a demographic shift, technological advances and a continuing uncertain economic climate.
Even though these factors are looming large on the horizon, most recruitment businesses do not have a business plan yet business planning is probably the best tool to assist managers in effecting the changes needed to support future growth.  To do nothing though is no longer an option if businesses are to survive in such turbulent times and grow to meet demands of clients, candidates and indeed, the whole jobs market.
So to help recruiters and their companies take the first steps towards facing the future equipped with the knowledge and acumen, the Recruitment and Employment Confederation today launches a new guide Planning for Success designed to help recruiters and company maximise their potential through business planning.
The guide, commissioned by the Industry Research Unit, makes it easy to create or enhance existing business plans.  It gives step-by-step guidance towards creating robust business plan from the processes entailed through to an extensive library of key information sources. It also provides links with the RECs suite of business support unit tools, templates, training, mentoring and other vital guidance material.
Planning for Success is the latest in the RECs suite of best practice publications produced by the IRU which are all tailored towards helping share best and next practice in the industry.
Commenting on the new guide, Roger Tweedy, the RECs Director of Research, said: The recruitment market is set to change significantly over the next five years and the ability to plan for this change has never been more important to achieving future growth.
Whether you are new to the business planning process, or an old hand, this guide will help you face the future with new confidence secure in the knowledge that you know what lies ahead, that you have considered all the options and that you are plotting a successful course for your business.
Roger added: Planning for Success is part of a wider menu of services that are available from the REC to support its members business planning needs and growth strategies. These services include market-leading training, business consultancy and mentoring, benchmarking, events and other specialist research publications.
