REC Office Professionals meeting throws spotlight on added value

REC Office Professionals meeting throws spotlight on added value

REC Office Professionals, the sector group dedicated to supporting recruiters who place candidates into the office environment, recently held its first meeting of the year.

Since being formed in early 2010, the group has seen a steady rise in member involvement and the meeting clearly showed the willingness of all members to share knowledge and develop the reputation and professionalism of their specialist market in a friendly atmosphere.

Following a campaign update by the RECs Head of Public Policy, Gillian Econopouly, and an overview of compliance issues with the RECs Compliance Policy Advisor, Clare Flower, members engaged in an interactive session looking at  business models and current market conditions and how specialist recruitment consultancies can justify the services they provide. The discussion that emerged showed that demonstrating the added value of recruitment consultancies is a business imperative.

Commenting on the meeting, Jo Edwards, Managing Director of Tate & Chair of REC Office Professionals said:

In recent years clients have shown a real appetite for their recruitment partners to demonstrate their added value proposition. Recruitment consultancies should be just that consultancies who can advise, offer counsel and really support an organisation by fully understanding their business challenges & resourcing requirements. Being able to offer thorough strategic and tactical insight is crucial from a specialist office recruitment consultancy for both the candidate and client. This can make all the difference when matching an exceptional candidate with an exceptional company.

Building on from earlier research, the group will be producing best practice guidelines and in the months ahead, will undertaken research on the changing nature of todays office professional.
