Sanderson Recruitment Plc Sponsor Business Analyst Networking Event

Sanderson Recruitment Plc Sponsor Business Analyst Networking Event
Earlier this month, Sanderson Recruitment Plc sponsored and coordinated the second ever South West Business Analyst networking event on behalf of the IIBA.
The International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) is an independent non-profit professional association with over 12,000 members worldwide serving the growing field of Business Analysis.
The IIBA have traditionally run a programme of networking and professional development events based out of London, however Bristol-based Sanderson Recruitment Plc saw the potential in running a local event providing networking opportunities for Business Analysts in the South West.
Working alongside the IIBA to organise and promote the event, Sanderson Recruitment Plc secured Bristols prestigious Clifton Club as a venue, and also managed to engage two speakers: George Sadler from NPower who investigated the routes of the Very First Business Analyst and Peter Gane from EDF Energy who led a discussion on whether or not in-house Business Analysts can compete with external consultants.
The event piloted a new Open Forum Q&A format, aimed at allowing attendees to suggest important or interesting topics to be raised for group discussion. As the events average between 30-50 people, this provides a smaller and more intimate setting in which the Business Analysts can raise queries and gain advice.
Principal Consultant for Sanderson Recruitment Plc and chief event organiser John Rainsbury said: The event was very well-received and we were pleased to see a substantial number of attendees at what was our second South West event.
We hope to be able to provide an opportunity for Business Analysts to receive peer-to-peer support and networking opportunities with other like minded individuals in the profession.
We plan to run these local events on a regular basis, and other regional offices across the UK having contacted us to get tips on organising their own event.
Events like these are vital opportunities for those in the industry to gain insights and professional development, and those who may be working in small departments will relish the chance to meet other professionals and share insights.
The event was attended by around forty Business Analysts from organisations across the region, including UCAS, UK Gov, Barclays, Lloyds, Unum and Hewlett Packard, and was very well received.
One Business Analyst contacted Sanderson Recruitment Plc after the event with this feedback: I have been to a few of the IIBA seminars, including the latest one in Bristol, and I really like what I have seen. I am going to encourage my team to take a look above their silo and see what the wider BA community has to offer.
