Scantec launches new department with technical expert

Leading Merseyside recruitment agency Scantec has announced it is launching a new department within its FMCG division. Scantec has promoted technical expert Sean Carter to manage the new department.

Sean joined Scantecs fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) division in April last year as a principal recruitment consultant. One of the key reasons for the launch of the new department is Seans proven expertise and contacts in the clean technology and competitive intelligence and strategy sectors. Clean technology caters for emerging energy technologies such as lithium batteries and fuel cell technology.  Competitive intelligence and strategy is the action of gathering, analysing and distributing intelligence about products, customers and competitors.

Managing director Peter Bates said Scantec sees the sectors as key growth areas.

We know how to combine our industry insight with technical acumen to help recruit the best possible candidates, he said. The department caters to the rapidly evolving clean technology and competitive intelligence and strategy sectors. We are keen to become a leading recruiter in these intelligence areas. Sean has previously held senior roles in the industry and we believe he will be bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to drive the department forward.

The new department will be recruiting personnel such as senior scientists and electrical chemists to the clean technology sector. The competitive intelligence and strategy department will secure roles for senior and management personnel to the energy, pharmaceutical, life science and financial service sectors.

Mr Bates said: Clean technology, competitive intelligence and strategy sectors have a unique potential to deliver long-term economic growth and create jobs in the UK. The FMCG division has been a real success and we hope to carry on being a leading recruiter in the technical sector. We will initially be servicing the UK. However, we believe this department has huge potential for the overseas market.
