NORTHERN IRELAND MEDICAL & DENTAL TRAINING AGENCY SELECTS INTREPID PATHWAY FROM HICOM
NORTHERN IRELAND MEDICAL & DENTAL TRAINING AGENCY SELECTS INTREPID PATHWAY FROM HICOM TO DRIVE RECRUITMENT INNOVATION
- Hicom provides NIMDTA with online recruitment tool to support the application process for doctors and dentists -
The Northern Ireland Medical & Dental Training Agency (NIMDTA) today announces it has gone live with Intrepid Pathway from Healthcare IT solutions and services specialist, Hicom. Intrepid Pathway is the new enhanced version of the fully-hosted online recruitment and applicant tracking system I:CAMS and works to support national and local recruitment in one easy-to-use single solution.
NIMDTA was established as a Special Agency in 2004 and ensures doctors and dentists in Northern Ireland are effectively trained to ensure that patients receive the highest standards of care. NIMDTA is responsible for recruitment of all health specialities throughout Northern Ireland. As the Deanerys previous HR system was becoming obsolete, it was recognised that a new system was needed to effectively track the training of doctors and dentists, as well as conform to the reporting requirements of the General Medical Council (GMC).
Margot Roberts, Administrative Director at NIMDTA, comments, Over the last couple of years, we have seen more and more deaneries in the UK moving onto the Intrepid platform to manage training, education and career progression. We currently use Intrepid and it is serving us well, but like most deaneries, we still had issues with vacant posts, which gave us a strong case to approach the Health and Social Care Board for the provision of additional funding for Intrepid Pathway.
Intrepid Pathway is based on the same platform as Hicoms former I:CAMS solution, but has been specifically developed to include a range of additional features and functionality to meet deaneries new requirements. It is a centralised solution that integrates seamlessly with Intrepid and allows users to access information and data quickly from any location. Intrepid Pathway offers major advantages for candidates too, providing a single recruitment portal for specialty vacancies managed by NIMDTA as well as other vacancies managed by other Deaneries and colleges using Intrepid Pathway.
Accessibility was particularly important for NIMDTA, as Roberts explains, A system that can be easily accessed by any trainee within the UK really helps us to track and target more people from outside Northern Ireland to fill vacant posts in specialist areas that we cant do internally.
Roberts adds, Intrepid will be very useful when the deanery is required to produce reports for the GMC, Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland and the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland. Before, it required us to pour over countless spreadsheets and analyse the information manually, but these reports can now be produced at the click of a button.
John Sanderson, Managing Director of Hicom, comments, Intrepid Pathway is perfectly suited to NIMDTAs needs and Intrepid is a proven solution that has had impressive results across the UK. Our experience of implementing the system at other deaneries has meant we are able to provide a polished product that tightly integrates with NIMDTAs infrastructure and meets their internal and external reporting requirements.
