Social media and brand values to become increasingly important in recruitment in 2011

2011 will see organisations increasingly focus on using social media as part of their recruitment process, according to Resource Solutions first Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) Insights report. Oliver Harris, CEO at Resource Solutions, part of the Robert Walters Group, says: While using social media is not new, were seeing that companies want to find ways of benchmarking their digital footprint or defining the impact and reach of their employer brand when using social media.

Used well, sites like LinkedIn and Facebook can be a cost effective way of reaching candidates, but there are plenty of pitfalls and a real risk of damaging your brand.

The report also found that brand values were becoming an deciding factor for an increasing number of professionals when choosing a new role. While many companies recognise the value of their brand, relatively few have the put the resources in place to define and communicate this, especially to potential employees. As part of our RPO service we have made it a priority to ensure consistent brand messaging is delivered to all candidates approaching employers we work with.
Resource Solutions RPO Insights report is the result of in-depth interviews with the companys RPO account directors working in over 40 locations around the world.
