YOUNG FINANCE PROFESSIONALS HONOURED AT AWARDS CEREMONY
 
Up-and-coming finance professionals from across the region were honoured at last nights Yorkshire Rising Stars Awards.
 
The event, at De Vere Oulton Hall, was hosted by BBC sports presenter Damian Johnson and attended by over 150 guests.
 
Chris Pennington, of SSP Ltd, was recognised with the coveted Overall Yorkshire Rising Star award.
 
Other winners included Catherine Barraclough, of Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc, Crawford Ltds Lisa Cork, and Andrew Copley of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.
 
This is the second year that the Yorkshire Rising Star Awards, supported by Barclays Corporate, Grant Thornton, Cobbetts and Sharp Consultancy has been held to recognise and celebrate the outstanding qualities that will allow many of the finalists become the finance directors of tomorrow.
 
Chris Pennington said: It is a complete surprise to win this award but fantastic all the same. Our key to success has been an appetite to embrace change and as a team we are ready for growth. I aim to lead by example and show that we can all do things that we thought we couldnt.
 
Founder and Director of Sharp Consultancy Chris Sharp said: We had a fantastic number of high calibre nominations once again from companies across Yorkshire, and the judges were delighted by the finalists growing confidence to play a pivotal and influential role in their respective business.
 
The Rising Star Awards are now an annual fixture on the Yorkshire business calendar rewarding the regions financial stars of tomorrow.
 
Guest speaker at the event James Lambert, CEO / Executive Chairman of R&R Ice Cream, praised the diverse range of finalists and provided tips on how to use their business skills as a platform for further success.
