All Jark Joint Venture operations have access to Jark plc's senior management team, who have grown Jark into the top-60 recruitment consultancy it is today. John Buckman, Jark chairman and founder of Jark Joint Ventures, comments: "Without the team's support, Jark would not have obtained its current market position. Starting with the most important business consideration - finance! - Jark's new financial director, Neil Rogers, is a highly-qualified chartered accountant. He is the first point of contact for the banks and oversees the finance team. He deals with the financial governance of the group, incorporating management accountancy, tax and cash management. Neil provides sound financial strategies for the overall business and each individual Joint Venture.
Working alongside Neil is David Jaffrey, our senior management consultant who has over 30 years' accountancy experience, including 15 in recruitment. He's on hand to help our Joint Ventures with periodic management accounts and year-end accounts. He also deals with day-to-day banking issues and funding requirements.
Diane MacLean oversees the payroll team. She has been with the business from the beginning, having seen it grow from just a few temps to a whole team under her management who pay thousands of temps each week. Her knowledge, dedication and personality are invaluable and she is always on the end of the phone for any payroll queries our Joint Ventures may have.
Danny Parr is the group's technical director and, as such, oversees the management of IT and support. He is responsible for the creation of an IT platform far more advanced and capable than that of our competition.
Group support manager Amanda Smith deals with HR for both internal staff and external clients, working alongside a third-party employment law specialist. She is an expert on the specialist staffing software system used by Jark and its Joint Ventures, including training and development as well as making sure the system is tailored to the individual needs of each business.
Elaine Southwell, accounts department supervisor, has 17 years' experience working in accounts and 10 years' experience in the banking sector. She manages a team of credit controllers and is involved in all areas of sales ledgers and supporting the allocation of cash.
The latest addition to the team is Debbie Austin, PR executive. Debbie, who graduated from university with a degree in advertising and public relations, joined Jark in November 2010 tasked with brand development and marketing support for the business. Debbie is integral to the launch and ongoing PR for the Joint Ventures, including media relations.
And last, but certainly not least, is John Buckman. John started a recruitment company in June 1993 and, together with a business partner, grew it to a 10million turnover in just three years. Wanting to establish the company on a wider, national level, he launched Jark plc, which turned over 92million by 2008. But John has now handed over the reins of Jark plc to group managing director Paul Mizen in order to create Jark Joint Ventures, through which helps to support budding entrepreneurs launch and build their own recruitment brands.
