Jim Faulds Appointed Chairman of Change Recruitment Group

Change Recruitment Group, the largest independent recruitment consultancy in Scotland, has appointed Jim Faulds as chairman.

Having built the UK's largest advertising agency outside London, with a turnover of 40million, Faulds sold the business to management in 2001 and has since forged a successful non-executive career across a broad range of sectors.

Change Recruitment, which employs more than 100 staff in Glasgow and Edinburgh, is reaping the rewards of an ambitious growth strategy which has delivered strong results in both the domestic and international markets and last year successfully placed over 1,900 candidates worldwide.

The company recently announced a 51 per cent increase in annual turnover to 14.7m in 2010/11 with a projected EBITDA profit of 1.5m.

Faulds' experience includes directorships with Scottish Exhibition Centre Ltd, international energy consultancy Wood Mackenzie, Newell & Budge, Dunfermline Building Society and Giles Insurance Brokers. He currently chairs Ainscough, the UK's largest mobile crane business, AIM-listed software firm i-Design and Newhaven Communications.

He said: "Change is an extremely impressive company with blue chip clients, a successful business model and a team of the highest calibre. There are relatively few companies in Scotland with similar potential to grow on an international stage.

"The next few years promise to be a very exciting time for the business and I am convinced Change can continue its impressive growth and further enhance the exceptional value it delivers to clients.

"It is already the most successful recruitment consultancy in Scotland and its international dimension is unique. The enthusiasm and drive of the management team is very impressive and I'm greatly looking forward to helping them realise their ambitious growth strategy."

Chief executive Suzanne Ramsay, who led a 14 million management buy-out of Change Recruitment in December 2006, backed by NBGI Private Equity, said: "Jim shares our vision and enthusiasm for delivering sustainable, long-term growth.

"We're looking forward to benefitting from his enormous experience and his track record of helping management teams to build significant national and international businesses. His success in creating Scotland's largest advertising agency speaks volumes for his business acumen and ability to excel in challenging markets.

"We spoke to a number of high-calibre candidates for the role and were really impressed with the standard of non-executive directors available, but Jim has shown, both in building Faulds and in his subsequent career, that he is the perfect fit for us."

Change is on the preferred supplier list of more than 90 major companies.
