NETWORKING EVENT SECURES NEW BUSINESS FOR JOBSHOP UK

One of the first networking events to be held by Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce at AFC Bournemouth has proved a winner for Poole based recruitment agency Jobshop UK.  Following attendance at the event, the agency has secured new business with Castlepoint Shopping Park with the placement of Hazel Thomson as Administrator/Receptionist.

Jobshop UK originally placed Hazel in a temporary role with Castlepoint Shopping Park but within two months, General Manager, Peter Matthews, was so impressed with her that she was offered a full time appointment.  Previously, the agency had also supplied a temp to the shopping park in an administrative role.

I am a great believer in personal contact and find networking events a great way to meet people from a wide range of local businesses, said Peter Matthews.  I was immediately impressed with Jobshop UKs approach and gave Alison Wiseman my business card.  A couple of months later she telephoned me, and as we were looking for a temporary administrator, I decided to give them a trial. I have been delighted with the service the agency provides and the high quality of their candidates.

Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce organises networking events throughout the year.  Such has been the success of the networking events at AFC Bournemouth that the Club has launched its own free business club, partnered by Bournemouth Chamber.  The Club now has some 500 members ranging from blue chip companies to smaller local organisations.

Networking events provide us with an opportunity to tell local businesses about our individual approach to recruitment, said Tracey Wood, Director of Jobshop UK.  This includes face to face interviewing, testing, checking academic records and ensuring that candidates meet clients specific requirements.
