Two Tomorrows, the leading international corporate sustainability agency, is looking to recruit the next generation of sustainability experts with the introduction of a new intern programme.

The three-month internships are open to post-graduates who have a passion for sustainability issues, and are looking to forge a career in the rapidly growing sphere of CR consultancy. By working with the Two Tomorrows team, the interns will be contributing to consultancy work carried out for the company’s global client base.

David Keddie, 29, is one of the first to complete the three-month programme, and has just accepted a full-time role at Two Tomorrows’ London office. His internship started following two years working in the sustainability sector in Melbourne, Australia and a Masters degree studied at Monash University.

For David, the internship was the perfect way to get into working with a company which he says was “the one I’d been looking for”.

“The programme has guided me through all aspects of consultancy work that Two Tomorrows undertakes, taking in areas such as sustainability reporting, report assurance and stakeholder engagement, as well as getting directly involved in the development of research, training materials and marketing collateral,” he says.

“It’s great to be working with a team of highly dedicated people. There is no one in the company who isn’t here for the right reason – namely to ultimately try and make a positive difference in the world through our work. Interns are treated very much like any other member of staff would be. You’re expected to complete work of a high standard that will be fully utilised by the company as anyone else would, giving you really useful experience as well as being a welcome challenge.

“Two Tomorrows were one of only two companies I came across who advertised for paid interns and that figure even includes some other companies in the environment sector who didn’t pay anything more than expenses, which really surprised me. That made me want to work for Two Tomorrows even more.”

Two Tomorrows Senior Consultant Anne Euler comments, “Based on the experience of our first two interns – one of whom now has a permanent position with us, and the other has gone on to undertake further research in the environmental field - we are confident in continuing to attract high calibre applicants, who already have a deep understanding of the issues and challenges facing our clients.”

With international offices in Seoul, San Francisco, Bath and London, Two Tomorrows also seeks the best young sustainability experts from universities around the world.

These include Kate Suh, who joined Two Tomorrows Asia following Masters degrees in Leadership and Organization, and Global Studies studied at Lund University and Malm&ouml University in Sweden.

Two Tomorrows is now looking for applications for internships to begin in October 2011. Applicants should have knowledge of the sustainability/CSR arena, preferably with a related post-graduate degree and in particular, with experience of sustainability reporting, report assurance and stakeholder engagement. They should be experienced in Word, Excel andPowerpoint packages, and will be used to handling and manipulating large amounts of data as well as analysis and reporting writing. The positions will receive remuneration.
